If you have always wanted to be a professional footballer, you need an opportunity to highlight your skills. Waiting for a scout to see you or waiting for a club to read your letter will not be enough.
By attending Soccer Showcase Centre you are immediately putting your talent in front of coaches who can fully assess your ability beyond the obvious. If we think you are good enough, we will look to put you forward for a trial at a professional football club.
This is where we believe Soccer Showcase Centre is different to other organisations. You'll get excellent coaching and a real understanding of what is required of you if and when you are offered a trial at a professional club. This can often be the difference between success and failure because players are not sure what is expected of them when they attend trials at pro clubs. Of course, it comes down to how the player performs if you are offered a trial, and you want to give yourself the best chance of success, so preparation is crucial.
What happens on our professional assessment days:
Introduction:
A warm welcome to Soccer Showcase Centre from the head coach to explain how the professional assessment day, works to parents and players, and answer any questions.
Start of the professional assessment:
The 3 hour session consists first of a dynamic warm up. Everybody will then be split into groups depending on there age. We will have different areas for example a technical, attacking, /defending, possession and a speed,agility and reaction area. By doing this we get to see players working on all parts of there game. These sessions demand high tempo and quality. We do this because this is what pro clubs are looking for.
THE MATCH:
In the last hour of the professional assessment, you will play a small sided games on a third of the pitch. we can then see, players decision making , movement, rotation of positions, risk taking, confidence, problem solving, finishing techniques and communication skills. Also a players versatility, attitude, and game understanding. At Soccer Showcase Centre we look at all elements of a players game which include Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychological. Technically ability is very important to us but just as important is there attitude, personality, and that the player is coachable.
Debrief:
We explain to the players how the day went what we assessed during the professional assessment , what they did well and what is required to develop there game further. Players will find out within 2 weeks weather they have got a trial at a pro club.
